All you have to do is have whatever streaming service is your poison on shuffle and use what song comes on. You can use the song to describe a book, character or ship.
I slightly changed it up a wee bit as I find it hard to relate songs to books. I related the songs to different reader situations I found myself in.
I need you now – Lady Antebellum
I dedicate this to anyone who has fifty pages left of their book but needs to go to sleep.
It’s a quarter after one, I’m all alone and I need you now
Said I wouldn’t call but I lost all control and I need you now
And I don’t know how I can do without, I just need you now
Good goodbyes – Catherine McGrath
This is an ode to the books that we DNF without looking back on the times you had. It’s OK to DNF!
This is a “Thank You,
God” we got out of the mess we were in baby just in time
Who knew there was still light in my eyes?
Who knew that you don’t have to try
And that you don’t have to cry?
Who knew there could be good goodbyes
Let me down Easy – Sheppard
I dedicate this song to books that have let me down in the past after I enjoyed the first half.
But something’s faded inside of your heart
Now you’re crusading to tear us apart
It’s clear now, I know you’re gonna leave me
So disappear now, I won’t get in your wayOh let me down easy
Let me down easy, woah, before you go
You’ll be back – Hamilton
I feel this is a song from all my fantasy series that I just haven’t continued on to the next book of.
Remember we made an arrangement when you went away
Now you’re making me mad
Remember, despite our estrangement, I’m your man
You’ll be back, soon you’ll see
You’ll remember you belong to me
You’ll be back, time will tell
You’ll remember that I served you well
Oceans rise, empires fall
We have seen each other through it all
And when push comes to shove
I will send a fully armed battalion to remind you of my love!
Looking for a good time – Lady Antebellum
This reminds me of finishing the work week and picking a book with a beautiful cover from the store to take home with you.
Put in a long hard week doing this nine to five
And you’re just the girl to get that off my mind
You shouldn’t’ve worn that dress
You shouldn’t dance like that
You got this little heart of mine in overdrive
