I’m currently watching Elf while making this blog so I am full of festive cheer! That being said I went to the library to get festive reads and got . . . a little distracted.
- A Boy Called Christmas – Matt Haig

I’ve wanted to read a Matt Haig book in a while and what could be a better introduction than a festive middle grade! I can say that I have read this and completely fell in love with Matt Haig’s writing.
2. Mortal Heart – Robin La Fevers

I have been binge reading the His Fair Assassin’s series, I don’t know how I didn’t know this series existed before. It has assassin nuns! ASSASSIN NUNS! I can’t wait to finish this trilogy with Mortal Heart.
3.Caraval – Stephanie Garber

I have had Caraval in ebook forever and haven’t got around to reading it yet so I think a physical copy might help! I’m hoping it will be the perfect cosy Winter read.
4.The Emergency Zoo- Miriam Halahmy

After reading The Red Ribbon I’ve been in a historical fiction mood. The Emergency Zoo is set in WW2 and involves keeping animals save, this will definitely be an emotional ride!
5. Dracul – Dacre Stoker & J.D Baker

I am interested in seeing how Dracul plays out as it is a prequel of Dracula based on Bram Stoker’s real life author notes. That and I have serious love for books set in the 1800’s.
Have you took any books out of the library lately?
I’m intrigued by Dracul though havent heard if it till now

I just saw it in Waterstones but I wasn’t sure if I liked it so I lent it from the library, I’m hoping it’s all the creepy.

I always have the library itch, I just look away from the books I already own so I can’t feel their betrayal

I haven’t read any of these, but they all look very good. I’ve been eyeballing Caraval for a while, too.

Well… I’ve read some negative reviews actually. Maybe you should too, so you can be positively surprised and not risk being underwhelmed 😀

Great collection! And I love the Grave Mercy series! I have a soft spot for female assassins and this series is definitely underrated.
